How to cover a hole from old doorbell chime box?
Replaced wireless doorbell and removed the old chime box, leaving a 6×8 inch hole in the hallway wall. Need a simple cover that doesn't require tools to open if I ever run wires again.

Old chime boxes leave awkwardly sized holes right where people walk by. A removable plastic cover is ideal—keeps the space accessible without permanent patching. I prefer ones with magnetic or clip retention so the door comes off easily but stays secure otherwise. The model I used has a smooth, paintable surface and a subtle frame that hides rough cuts. Painted to match the hallway it looks like part of the trim. I put in a neat wall hole cover (8×10) and it's been perfect for months. Just press-fit and touch up paint around the edges.
