Splatter screen for non-stick pans – does it scratch?

Hi! I mostly cook on good non-stick pans and I’m scared a metal splatter screen for frying pan might scratch the coating if it touches the rim. Has anyone used one long-term with non-stick without problems? Looking for safe options.

As long as the screen has a smooth stainless rim (not sharp or rough edges) it shouldn’t scratch non-stick at all – I’ve used mine on several non-stick skillets for over a year with zero marks. The screen usually rests on the top rim, not inside, so contact is minimal. Just make sure it’s not too small (so it doesn’t fall in) and not super cheap with jagged edges. My current one has a nicely finished wide rim that sits securely without sliding or digging in. It’s been perfect for eggs, fish, pancakes – everything I cook on non-stick. Very happy with this model – splatter screen for frying pan . Keeps the kitchen clean and the pans safe.
