Italian drum maestro Andrea Bonioli makes his Blue Lamp debut with a world class trio featuring Raf Ferrari, piano, and Andrea Colella, double bass. A gifted musician and composer, Andrea has a rich and varied CV including collaborations with musicians as diverse as the legendary Ennio Morricone and Roger Waters. Raf Ferrari makes a welcome return to the Blue Lamp following his standout show at the 2023 Aberdeen Jazz Festival.

The trio will be showcasing music from Andrea’s latest recording ‘Figli Forever’ and the Blue Lamp audience can expect melody and rhythm with plenty space for group interplay and improvisation. With influences from popular music, rock and prog informing Andrea’s contemporary jazz style, this promises to be another great Blue Lamp night.

Guest in the studio ANDREA BONIOLI, drummer, vibraphonist, percussionist, jazz player and composer, to present his new album 'FIGLI FOREVER', published by FILIBUSTA RECORDS. The question is...can one stop being a child sooner or later? According to Andrea Bonioli, as the off-screen voice of Prof. Recalcati suggests in the incipit of the work itself, "no, you never stop nor can you choose to be a child or not. Not even parenthood emancipates man from this condition, the only one perhaps independent of his will. Naturally, one is a "child" in many ways, so the author translates this concept into music, which everyone can use as they see fit."

“Figli Forever” is the third album by drummer Andrea Bonioli released on the Filibusta Records label. A work that continues with the concept album concept that the author had already expressed in the previous albums "The commercial album" and "Pop". The project is made up of seven heterogeneous tracks which range from the piano trio to the sextet, with the complicity of the voice instrument and even the strings in one piece. The concept, however, always remains that of being a child even when you become a parent. We talk about it face to face with Andrea Bonioli.
