We're really excited for this month's Speakin' Weird headliner on 23rd June, 7:30pm, Blue Lamp, Aberdeen, the wonderful Abigail Underwood @abigailunderwoodcreative
Abigail Underwood is a performance poet, early-career playwright and actor. Her first performance at Speakin’ Weird was years ago, and it was her love of poetry and spoken word that kick-started her career in theatre. She returns to our poetry stage full of new ideas, new poems and some old favourites. She featured at Books and Beans poetry night in March 2024, has competed in two I Am Loud Slams, and featured with Leopard Arts wayWORD Festival events over the past couple of years as both a poet and a playwright. The Aberdeen poetry scene is incredibly close to her heart and identity, and she is VERY excited to be headlining Speakin’ Weird for the first time! Expect poems about sex, drugs (prescribed or otherwise), raving and… fairytales?
